WELCOME TO THE TRINIDAD & TOBAGO ASSOCIATION OF WASHINGTON D.C., INC.
The Bison Project is a three-part podcast that documents the story behind Howard University’s 1971 national soccer championship team whose title was stripped by the NCAA. The Lincoln Phillips-coached team was largely comprised of Caribbean and West African players, some of whom were members of this organization. This three-part podcast is reported and narrated by former ESPN filmmaker Mark W. Wright, who was coached at Springbrook High School by Trinidadian Ian Bain, who was a star freshman on the ’71 team. Please take the time to listen to this important series. The link below will take you to a dedicated web site which has all three episodes as well as information on other players and students who lived and experienced that epic season.
