This movis is is written and directed b Ms. Alyscia Cunninghan, a Trinbago National. She is carded to be the Guest Speaker at our February Genaral meeting on Thursday 6th February 2025.

 Reception with Small Bites
Kick off the evening at 5:30 PM with a light reception featuring delicious small bites provided by Crown Bakery—the only Trinidadian bakery in the DC metro area—the event will kick off at 5:30 PM with a light reception featuring delicious small bites.

 Red Carpet Experience: Strike a pose and take photos on the red carpet before the films premiere at 6:00 PM sharp.

Event Highlights:

  • Premiere of SEEING WITHOUT SIGHT (21 minutes): A documentary exploring the experiences of women with vision loss and challenging us to see beyond sight, followed by a Q&A.

  • Bonus Screenings: SENSES (13 minutes - horror/thriller) and NEGRO MOUNTAIN (14 minutes - horror/thriller).

  • Premiere of DOUEN II (10 minutes): A folklore horror short inspired by Trinidad and Tobago folklore, followed by a Q&A.

CARNIVAL CORNER

  • Known as the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’, Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival  (Visit the Website)  is an annual event held on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday in twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago. The event is well known for participants' colorful costumes and exuberant celebrations. There are numerous cultural events such as fetes, Steelband Panorama, King & Queen Of The Band Shows and Soca & Calypso contests in the lead up to the street parade on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
