Five Caribbean Women Honored

    FUTURE FOCUS GLOBAL FEMALE ICON AWARD 2K21

    Five Caribbean women were among the the Ten recipients of this year's Global Female Icon Award.  Four of them are from Trinidad & Tobago and one from Barbados.

    One of the recipients is our own Dr. Astril Webb, daughter-in-law of one of the founders of this organization, and a previous guest speaker at our January General Meeting

    In the heights of the Covid-19 pandemic, Future Focus Empowerment Institute International, hosted its Inaugural Global Women Empowerment Conference (WEC) 2K20 attracting some 11 thousand participants across the globe. This year, the organizers will host its 2nd annual Women’s Conference with a difference. In celebration of Women’s History Month, Future Focus Empowerment Institute International hosted a virtual conversation on their talk show, Future Focus Fridays, on each Friday in the month of March at 6:30pm Eastern Time (USA & Canada) in celebration of Women’s History Month. To conclude the celebration, the organizers hosted its inaugural Global Female Icon Awards, 2K21acknowledging an influential cast of women representing a cross section of backgrounds and communities stretching from the Caribbean, the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa, on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 12:30pm (EST), via a zoom webinar.

    According to the organizers, the founder & Chief Visionary of Future Focus Empowerment Institute International Ms. Crystal Camejo of Trinidad & Tobago, opened the ceremony bring opening remarks and welcoming the global community in the virtual zoom and on Facebook live.

    Among the awardees were:

    Her Excelleny Dr. Joyce Banda – First Female President of Malawi

    Her Excellency Paula Mae Weekes – First President of Trinidad & Tobago

    The Honorable Prime Minister Mia Mottley – First Female Prime Minister of Barbados

    The Honorable Dr. Betty Campbell – First African American Commissioner of Jurors, NYS

    The Honorable Minister Pennelepe Beckles – President of UN Women 2019-2020

    Dr. Alice Mbewe - Malawian-UK Translational Science Champion

    Ms. Onika Mars – President of Women of Substance

    Ms. Candace Sandy – US Based Best Selling Author

    Dr. Astril Webb – Global Health & Wellness Expert

    Ms. Janelle Brady – Vice President of the Ontario New Democratic Party

    The Global Female Icon Awards 2K21 was hosted by CEO of Global Food Warrior, Ms. Colette Cyrus-Burnett of Trinidad & Tobago and Mrs. Teneisha Campbell-Cephas a California, Los Angeles, USA - Actress/Screen Writer/Producer who was casted in the award winning cinematic marvel universe, Black Panther. Some 9000 participants have been recorded of Sunday April4, 2021 and the number is expected to rise as the ceremony will be uploaded to the organization’s YouTube Chanel.

    Future Focus Empowerment Institute International is a global social enterprise, now registered as a 501 (c)3 Non-Governmental organization in New York State serving some 270 young men and women in over forty-five (45) countries across, Africa, Asia, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
