Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure.

Several people in our community including Petra Tchouante, a new member to TTADC, is an active member of the Caribbean community in the DMV. who is Lupus patient, and has been living with the disease for 33 years now.  Petra has spent many years advocating for Lupus Warriors like herself by volunteering her time with the Lupus Foundation of America DC/MD/VA Chapter Inc. as a member of the local walk’s planning committee. The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) host walks Nationwide to in effort to raise money for lupus research, increase awareness of lupus and rally public support for those who suffer from its brutal impact. Thousands of people across the county join forces and walk with one united purpose

To this end, Petra ans her team of Lupus Warriors have organized this year's walk is on Saturday, September 28th on the National Mall downtown DC.
